At MechFS, we believe apprenticeships have a vital role to play – both in the future of our business, and the wider industry, too. That’s why we continually invest in taking on new apprentices each year, across all areas of our organisation. We’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of the workforce, giving our apprentices the chance to flourish on a new and exciting career path with us.
Our apprentices work closely with our experienced team, gaining vital work experience to complement their academic learning. But don’t let us do all the talking – here’s what our apprentices themselves have to say:
Jessica is undertaking a Level 4 AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification.
“MechFS is very supportive and anything related to the course is fully funded. If I need extra days for study leave, my tutor will allow me extra time instead of me having to take holiday days for study sessions. I like the atmosphere as it isn’t very corporate, you’re part of a team with a name, not a number.”
Tom undertook an apprenticeship in Air Conditioning with MechFS.
“I started my apprenticeship at 17 and am now a qualified air conditioning engineer working for MechFS. I knew that I didn’t like sitting in a room all day and didn’t want to work with my dad. It was really good and I enjoyed it. I’ll stay with MechFS until they sack me!”
Henry is doing a Quantity Surveying apprenticeship with MechFS,
“I did my A-levels first, but I’d always had an interest in construction and studied law and accounting in sixth form. It seemed like a no brainer for me – I knocked on the door of MechFS, had an interview, and the CEO read through my CV and offered me a sponsored degree. I left the interview buzzing and very happy as I didn’t expect that.
We have a yearly intake of apprentices, starting each September. If you are interested in applying, please contact recruitment@mechfs.org with your CV and covering letter, letting us know which discipline you are interested in.
