Mech FS has been appointed by Clugston Construction to design and install the new Birmingham Dogs Home in Solihull as reported on Construction Enquirer.com Work will start on site at the end of this month on the £4.3m scheme designed by Associated Architects and building services consultant Andrew Wilkes The new Home will be open for its first dogs in August 2015. Birmingham Dogs Home has served the West Midlands region since 1892. The charity recently identified a need to upgrade their existing kennelling facilities, and to relocate from their existing Digbeth site to a new purpose built facility in the countryside. The new Home will provide 120 rehoming kennels, a veterinary suite, administration areas and community rooms. Proposals also include large external exercise areas, car parking and accommodation for the centre manager. Matthew Goer, Director for Associated Architects said: “It’s fantastic to see the project reach such an important milestone. “This project has been a hugely engaging one and there is a tangible sense of the positive impact it’s going to have on the charity and its work in the wider community.” This is the first project secured from the new Mech FS Midlands office based in Solihull.
