Mech FS gets the year off to a ‘best ever’ start

A South Yorkshire-based mechanical and electrical contractor has reported its ‘best ever’ start to the year, after winning more than £27million worth of new business.

Mechanical Facilities Limited (MechFS) has started 2017 by securing new contracts with major brands including Travelodge, Hilton and Aldi.

And, the family-run firm which has its headquarters in Beckingham, Doncaster, has further cemented its growth with the opening of a new Sheffield office on Fox Valley Way and the appointment of two new staff.

Paul Firch, managing director at MechFS, said: “We’re thrilled to have got 2017 off to such a strong start – it’s the best beginning to a year we’ve ever had.

“Since the business started almost a decade ago, we’ve grown considerably and now work with some of the most well-known brands in the world. In the last 18 months alone, we’ve created an additional 30 jobs in the South Yorkshire region, taking us to 80 employees and apprentices across the UK.

“We’re looking forward to continuing our success into 2017 and beyond, providing more employment and training opportunities for the people of South Yorkshire as we continue to develop our technical base here at both our headquarters in Doncaster and our new office in Sheffield.”

The company, which specialises in providing tailored mechanical and electrical engineered solutions for a wide range of sectors including retail, distribution, public sector and commercial, is keen to provide apprenticeship opportunities for young people in the region.

Paul added: “We’re very aware that in order to continue to grow and support the region’s engineering sector, we need to nurture the next generation. Apprenticeships play a crucial role in this.

“We employ six here in South Yorkshire and we’re currently looking for another two air conditioning and electrical apprentices. We hope to continue with this and further build on our commitment to supporting the region’s engineers of tomorrow.”

As well as its Doncaster headquarters and new Sheffield office, MechFS also has a Midlands office in Solihull.
